ABSTRAK Mual muntah meningkatkan ketidaknyamanan anak saat kemoterapi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh relaksasi otot progresif atau progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) terhadap kenyamanan, mual, muntah pada anak yang mendapat kemoterapi di RSUP. H. Adam Malik Medan. Desain penelitian quasi eksperimen pre-post test dengan kelompok kontrol. Responden diambil dengan teknik consecutive sebanyak 21 orang pada tiap kelompok. PMR diberikan 2x sehari selama 15 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan kenyamanan pada kelompok kontrol (p < 0,05) tetapi tidak pada kelompok intervensi (p > 0,05). Terdapat perbedaan mual antara kedua kelompok (p < 0,05). Tidak ada perbedaan bermakna frekuensi dan volume muntah pada kedua kelompok (p > 0,05). PMR dapat dijadikan intervensi mandiri perawat dalam meningkatkan kenyamanan dan menurunkan mual, muntah anak saat kemoterapi. ABSTRACT Nausea and vomiting increas discomfort during chemotherapy. The aims of the study is to determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) for the comfort, nausea and vomiting induced chemotherapy in H. Adam Malik Medan Hospital. Research design was quasi-experimental pre-post test with control group. Consecutive sampling technic was conducted to 21 childs in both groups. PMR gave twice a day during fifteen minutes. The results showed differences comfort in the control group (p < 0,05) but not in the intervention group (p > 0,05). There are differences significant nausea between two groups (p < 0,05). There is no significant difference vomit in both groups (p > 0,05). PMR can be used as independent intervention in improving comfort, reducing nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy. |
