Bauksit adalah material untuk memproduksi aluminium. Aluminium sendiri sudahdikenal sejak lama sebagai bahan campuran untuk pembuatan kerangka pesawatterbang, pesawat jet, pesawat ulang alik dan juga satelit yang merupakan objekobjekyang sangat vital dalam peradaban manusia kedepan. Sebagai bagian dariinisiatif pemerintah untuk berperan aktif dan mempunyai kendali lebih besar atassumber daya alam yang sifatnya strategis, pemerintah mengeluarkan peraturanuntuk melarang ekspor bahan mineral mentah (ore) secara langsung ke luarnegeri. Perusahaan diwajibkan untuk melakukan proses peningkatan sumber dayaalam yang sifatnya mentah (ore) menjadi barang setengah sehingga dapatmemberikan nilai tambah. Keberadaan peraturan tersebut mendorong perusahaanuntuk melakukan evaluasi ulang atas strategi bisnisnya selama ini. Dari sisistrategi manajemen, studi ini akan menganalisa proses pembentukan usahapatungan dalam sebagai salah satu strategi untuk beradaptasi dengan perubahanlingkungan yang mendadak akibat adanya perubahan peraturan pemerintah. Selainitu, dari sesi keuangan juga akan dilakukan analisa kelayakan investasipembangunan pabrik pengolahan biji bauksit dengan melihat NPV, IRR,Profitability Index dan Payback Period dari investasi ini.
ABSTRACT
Bauxite is a material for producing aluminum. Aluminum itself has been knownsince long as an ingredient for the manufacture of aircraft frame, jet planes, spaceshuttle and satellites which are the objects that are vital to the future of humancivilization. As part of a government initiative to play an active role and havegreater control over natural resources that are strategic, the government passed alaw to ban the export of raw mineral material (ore) directly out of the country.Company is required to perform the process of improving the natural resourcesthat are raw (ore) into intermediate goods that can provide added value. Theexistence of these regulations encourages companies to conduct re-evaluation ofits business strategy over the years. In terms of management strategies, this studywill analyze the process of formation of the joint venture as a strategy to adapt tosudden environmental changes due to changes in government regulations. Inaddition, from the financial point of view, this study will conduct feasibilityanalysis of investment processing plant by using NPV, IRR, Profitability Indexand Payback Period as critical parameter to make decision., Bauxite is a material for producing aluminum.
