Kesimpulan: Perubahan sudut vertikal sebesar 100 masih dapat ditoleransi untuk melihat panjang gigi pada radiograf intraoral periapikal gigi premolar satu bawah One of the quality evaluation criteria of a radiograph is the vertical distortion. Vertical distortion is relatively more common in periapical radiographs of the mandibular premolar region. Objective: To determine the vertical angle changes that can be tolerated in the periapical radiographs of the mandibularpremolars. Methods: 30 mandibular first premolars that were already extracted and had the length measured clinically as well as radiographically. Periapical radiography projection were then taken with the vertical angle set at 00, +100, +150, +200, -100, -150, -200. The tooth length and the difference of the cusp height were then measured by two observers twice at different times. Results: Statistically, tooth length at vertical angulation 00, +100, +150, +200, -100, -150 has the p value >0,05, so there is no significant difference. On the other hand, the buccal-lingual cusp difference has the p value <0,05, that means there is a significant difference. Conclusion: In standard periapical radiography, 100 change from the normal vertical angulation could still be tolerated to measure the vertical dimension or tooth length of the mandibular first premolar tooth. |
