ABSTRAK Tembakau (Nicotiana tabacum) merupakan tanaman yang tersebar di berbagai tempat di Indonesia. Kandungan utama minyak tembakau dari proses pirolisis pada suhu 500oC ini adalah nikotin dan 3-metilpiridin. Kandungan tersebut memiliki potensi sebagai pengusir nyamuk. Pengusir nyamuk yang menggunakan zat aktif sintetis memiliki efek berbahaya bagi tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kestabilan minyak tembakau dengan memformulasikan minyak tembakau hasil pirolisis fraksi bawah ke dalam formula losio dengan empat konsentrasi yang berbeda-beda (0,0; 0,5; 1,5; dan 3,0%). Formula tersebut diuji stabilitas fisiknya. Pada uji stabilitas fisik dilakukan dengan menyimpan losio pada tiga suhu yang berbeda (suhu rendah 4oC, suhu kamar 25oC, dan suhu tinggi 40oC), uji sentrifugasi dan cycling test. Hasil uji stabilitas pada keempat formula sediaan losio minyak tembakau adalah stabil. ABSTRACT Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) plants that are abundant in various places in Indonesia . The main content of the tobacco oils from the pyrolysis process at a temperature of 500oC are nicotine and 3-methylpyridine. The content has potential as a mosquito repellent. Mosquito repellent which is used synthetic active substances have harmful effects to the body. The aim of the study is to develop stability properties from tobacco oil by formulating it into the lotion formula with four different concentrations ( 0.0 , 0.5, 1.5, and 3.0 % ). These formulas were physical stability tested. In the physical stability test performed by storing the lotion at three different temperatures (low temperature 4°C, room temperature 25°C , and high temperature 40oC ) , centrifugation test and cycling test . The results shown that the stability tests on the four tobacco oil lotion formula preparation are physically stable. |
