 Abstrak

[ABSTRAK
Tesis ini mengkaji Pengembangan Museum Situs Batujaya yang sesuai dengan museologi baru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang memfokuskan pada kondisi Situs Batujaya. Analisisnya difokuskan pada komunikasi museum situs dengan menggunakan teore edukasi. Selanjutnya dibahas mengenai pengembangan pengelolaan koleksi dan struktur organisasi. Desain arsitektur juga menjadi pembahasan yang penting sebagai pendukung pengembangan Museum Situs Batujaya. Konsep dan desain edukasi diwujudkan dalam bentuk pameran dan program publik. Tema pameran mengenai ?Situs Batujaya sebagai satu-satunya percandian tertua di Jawa? menjadi bagian penting sebagai dasar dalam pembuatan alur cerita dan tata pamer. Tata pamer dibuat dengan teore edukasi konstruktivis dengan pendekatan lingkungan. Selain itu, cara belajar informal free-choice learning juga menjadi pilihan yang dapat dilakukan dalam pengembangan Museum Situs Batujaya.

ABSTRACT
This thesis reviewing the development of the Site Museum of Batujaya in accordance with the new museology. Using descriptive qualitative method focusing on the condition of Archaeological Site of Batujaya, the analysis focused on the communications museum site by using the theory of education. Further discussion regarding the development of collection management and organizational structure, and the architectural design also became an important discussion to support the development of Batujaya Site Museum. The educational concept and design to be done by the "Museum Site of Batujaya" embodied in the form of exhibitions and public programs. "Batujaya Site as the oldest temple in Java" as the exhibition theme played an important role as a basic plot in the making of storyline and exhibition design, which created on the base of the constructivist educational theory in accordance with environmental approach. Furthermore, free-choice informal learning method is also an option in the development of Batujaya Site Museum.
