[ABSTRAK Penelitian ini membahas tentang perubahan konsep perempuan Jawa pada tokoh Siti dalam film Opera Jawa (2006) arahan Garin Nugroho yang merupakan alih wahana dari Ramayana. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah menampilkan perubahan konsep perempuan Jawa dari tokoh Siti, yaitu kesetiaan, gemati, dan bekti. Analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori alih wahana modality media Lars Ellestrom dan teori gender dengan pendekatan unsur naratif Roland Barthes dan sinematografis film. Penelitian ini menghasilkan bahwa dalam tokoh Siti pada Opera Jawa mengalami perubahan konsep perempuan Jawa.
