[ABSTRAK Diabetes mellitus merupakan penyakit metabolik yang ditandai dengan hiperglikemia Selain faktor genetik gaya hidup dengan konsumsi makanan yang tinggi kalori kurang sehat dan tidak teratur merupakan penyebab terjadinya penyakit diabetes mellitus Karya Ilmiah Akhir ini memberikan gambaran intervensi terapi diet untuk menurunkan dan mengontrol kadar gula darah pada penderita diabetes dengan pendekatan pelaksanaan asuhan keperawatan keluarga Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa setelah diintervensi terjadi penurunan kadar gula darah dari 356 mg dl menjadi 133 mg dl dan keluarga
