[ABSTRAK Penderita gagal ginjal kronik di perkotaan semakin meningkat disebabkan gaya hidup yang kurang sehat seperti merokok, meminum suplemen energi, meminum alkohol, malas berolah raga dan memakan junk food. Proses lanjut gagal ginjal kronik yang mencapai tahap terminal salah satunya yaitu dialisis yang memerlukan biaya yang tidak murah. Penulisan ini bertujuan menggambarkan asuhan keperawatan pada pasien gagal ginjal kronik dan menganalisis intervensi yang diberikan yaitu edukasi gagal ginjal kronik dan perawatannya. Hasil asuhan keperawatan yang diperoleh yaitu terkontrolnya cairan masuk-keluar, perbaikan keseimbangan asam basa dan pengetahuan pasien dan keluarga terkait definisi, penyebab, tanda dan gejala, komplikasi serta pencegahan perburukan gagal ginjal kronik. Diperlukan adanya tindak lanjut yang konsisten dalam pemberian edukasi pasien gagal ginjal kronik di ruangan Melati Atas, RSUP Persahabatan. ABSTRACT Patients with chronic renal failure in urban areas are increasing dua to unhealthy lifestyle such as smoking, drinking energy supplements, alcohol, lazy exercise and eat a junk food. Further process of chronic renal failure who have reached the terminal stage requires dialysis that coast are not cheap. This paper aims to describe the nursing care to patientswith chronic renal failure and analyze the interventions that give education and about the treatment of chronic renal failure. The results is patients can controlled intake and output, improve balance of acid and bases and knowledge of the patient and family about definitions, causes, sign and symptoms, complications and prevention chronic renal failure.
