Akan tetapi wanita hamil sangat beresiko mengalami penyulitatau komplikasi yang tidak diinginkan, salah satunya adalah abortusinkomplit. Fenomena tersebut mendorong profesi keperawatan untuk terusmengembangkan ilmu sejalan dengan tuntutan masyarakat terhadappelayanan kesehatan yang berkualitas. Laporan ini bertujuanmenggambarkan pelaksanaan praktek residensi keperawatan maternitasselama satu tahun, meliputi asuhan keperawatan pada masa childbearingnormal dan resiko tinggi, bayi baru lahir normal dan resiko tinggi,perempuan yang mengalami masalah reproduksi dan ginekologi di tatananklinik maupun di komunitas. Residen juga melakukan asuhan keperawatanpada kasus focus of interest yaitu abortus inkomplit denganmengaplikasikan teori need for help yang dikombinasikan dengan teorisocial support. Laporan ini juga mengemukakan hambatan dan dukunganpada pelaksanaan praktek residensi. Selain itu, laporan ini jugamemaparkan tentang kegiatan pencapaian kompetensi perawat spesialismaternitas melalui penerapan peran sebagai pemberi perawatan, pendidik,konselor, koordinator, komunikator, advokat, agen perubahan dan peneliti.

Resident also performs nursing care on a case that isthe focus of interest by applying the theory of incomplete abortion need for help iscombined with the theory of social support. The report also noted the barriers andsupport the implementation of the practice residency.
