| [Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi dan memperbaharui skala Desirability of Control (DOC) yang sebelumnya telah dikembangkan oleh Burger and Cooper (1979). Skala baru ini diberi nama Desirability for Control (DFC). Hubungan antara Desirability for Control (DFC) dan Grade Point Average (GPA), jenis kelamin, Locus of Control (Rotter, 1966) akan diuji dalam penelitian ini. Sejumlah partisipan yang terdiri dari mahasiswa University of Queensland yang terdaftar pada mata kuliah Measurement in Psychology (PSYC3020) (N = 217) terlibat di dalam penelitian ini. Pengembangan skala Desirability for Control (DFC) terdiri dari 10 butir pertanyaan dengan 5 poin skala likert yang dimulai dari 1 (sangat setuju) sampai dengan 5 (sangat tidak setuju). Reliabilitas pengukuran yang baru diukur oleh cronbach’s alpha dan mempunyai tingkat reliabilitas yang moderat (α = .64). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian,ditemukan bahwa tidak ada korelasi yang signifikan antara skala Desirability for Control (DFC) dan GPA, jenis kelamin, dan Locus of Control (Rotter, 1966). Oleh karena itu, hasil dari penelitian ini tidak mendukung hipotesis yang telah dibuat. Untuk penelitian di masa depan, dianjurkan agar setiap item harus melalui test-retest untuk meningkatkan validas dan reliabilitas butir pertanyaan., The aim of this study is to evaluate and renewing the Desirability of Control (DOC) scale which was developed by Burger and Cooper (1979). The new scale is named as Desirability for Control (DFC). The relationship between Desirability for Control (DFC) and Grade Point Average (GPA), gender, Locus of Control scale (Rotter, 1966) is being examined in this study. The participants of this study were the University of Queensland students who are enrolled in PSYC3020 (N = 217). The newly develop Desirability for Control consists of 10 items with 5 points Likert-type scale ranging from 1 (strongly agree) to 5 (strongly disagree). The reliability of the new measure was measured by the cronbach’s alpha and it had a moderate level of reliability (α = .64). The results of the study found that there were no relationships between Desirability for Control (DFC) and GPA, gender and Locus of Control (Rotter, 1966). Therefore, this study does not support the current hypothesis. For future research the new items should go through a test-retest to increase the validity and reliability of the items.] |
