| This article explores Ousmane Sembene's short story La Noire de… (Black Girl) and its filmversion by using the binary structure of the film, corresponds to the crude binary system thatunderlies any system of oppression and exploitation, a system that divides the world into twoopposing categories: the oppressed and the oppressors.By focusing exclusively on Diouana's situation, we can trace a similar binary relationship inreverse. This film leads to the study of society that linked between female domestic labor andthe general political structure. |
