Pengaruh kepemilikan asing dan hubungan politik terhadap pemilihan auditor eksternal = The impact of foreign ownership structure and political connection on auditor choice

| Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh struktur kepemilikan asing serta keberadaan hubungan politik dalam perusahaan terhadap pemilihan auditor eksternal. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap seluruh perusahaan yang terdaftar dalam Bursa Efek Indonesia pada tahun 2013. Klasifikasi auditor eksternal dari kantor akuntan publik (KAP) Big Four dan Non Big Four digunakan sebagai proxy kualitas audit yang akan dipilih oleh perusahaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa struktur kepemilikan asing sesuai dengan hipotesis awal, yakni berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap pemilihan auditor eksternal Big Four. Sementara temuan keberadaan koneksi politik yang berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap pemilihan auditor eksternal Big Four tidak sesuai dengan hipotesis awal.This study was aimed at analyzing the effect of foreign ownership structure and the existence of political connections within the firm to the choice of external auditor. This study was conducted to all companies listed on Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2013. This study used Big Four and Non Big Four auditor classification as a proxy of audit quality that will be chosen by the company. The results showed that the structure of foreign ownership, in accordance with the initial hypothesis, was significant positive relations on external auditor choice by the company. While the findings of the existence of political connections have a significant positive relations toward external auditor choice is not in accordance with the initial hypothesis. |
