Tesis ini membahas tentang ideologi yang terbentuk di balik penulisan kembalisejarah dunia dalam anime ?Hetalia Axis Powers? karya Hidekazu Himaruya. Teoriyang digunakan adalah teori Semiotika Barthes dengan didukung teori RepresentasiHall dan Oposisi Biner, serta teknik sinematografis. Di balik penggambarankembali sejarah dunia dalam ?Hetalia Axis Powers? adalah ideologi superioritasbangsa Jepang, penonjolan keunikan bangsa Jepang (nihonjinron), identitas bangsa,dan adanya kecenderungan dukungan terhadap wacana normalisasi militer Jepang.
