Abstract
Jurnal ini membahas tentang simbol dari lentera merah dalam film Raise The Red Lantern (Dà Hóng D?nglóng G?og?o Guà (???????), 1991). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan makro sastra atau ekstrinsik yaitu, menganalisis unsur-unsur di luar karya sastra yakni pengkajian konteks karya sastra di luar teks. Tujuan penulisan adalah menganalisis makna semiotika dari lentera merah. Karakteristik yang paling menonjol dalam film ini adalah lentera merah yang hampir menjadi penentu jalan cerita film ini karena melambangkan kekuasaan dari sang tuan rumah.

This journal discusses the symbol of the red lantern in the movie Raise the Red Lantern (Dà Hóng D?nglóng G?og?o Guà, 1991). This study uses a macro approach to literary or extrinsic i.e., analyzing the elements outside literature that studies outside the context of literary texts. The purpose of writing is to analyze the meaning semiotics of red lanterns. The most prominent characteristic of this film is the red lantern which is almost a decisive way the story of this film because it symbolizes the power of the host.
