[ABSTRAK Anak Besi ( 铁孩 Tiehai ) merupakan salah satu cerita pendek yang ditulis pada tahun 1990 oleh penulis Cina Mo Yan. Cerita Anak Besi ini banyak mengandung simbol-simbol serta memiliki alur cerita yang menarik.Karya ini menceritakan tentang seorang anak kecil yang berteman dengan seorang anak yang disebut Anak Besipada masa Lompatan Jauh ke Depan. Makalah ini membahas mengenai bagaimana kondisi sosial pada masaLompatan Jauh ke Depan yang diungkap dalam cerita. Selain itu makalah ini juga mengkaji kaitan kondisi sosial yang diungkap dalam cerita tersebut dengan realita yang sebenarnya. ABSTRACT Iron Child ( 铁孩 Tiehai) is one of short stories written in early 1990 by Chinese author, Mo Yan. This Iron Child story contains a lot of symbols and also a plotline that is very interesting. This story tells about a little child becoming friends with another child called Iron Child during The Great Leap Forward. This paper discusses about the social conditions during The Great Leap Forward that is within the story.
