Bahasa Jepang merupakan bahasa yang banyak memiliki kata yang artinya mirip satu sama lain. Salah satunyaadalah kata nakama dan tomodachi yang keduanya dapat diartikan sebagai teman. Hal yang membedakanpemakaian kata nakama dan tomodachi adalah situasi kata tersebut digunakan. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalahuntuk mengetahui perbedaan pemakaian kata nakama dan tomodachi, serta mengetahui alasan mengapa katanakama yang dipilih dalam manga Fairy Tail untuk mengartikan kata teman. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodestudi pustaka dan sampel dari manga Fairy Tail. Hasil yang didapat menggambarkan kata nakama diprioritaskanuntuk dipilih dalam manga Fairy Tail karena nakama memiliki makna teman yang berhubungan denga pekerjaan.Sedangkan kata tomodachi tidak dipilih karena maknanya tidak sesuai dengan konteks manga Fairy Tail.
ABSTRACT
Japanese is a language that have plenty of word which has meaning almost the same between one word to another. One of them is nakama and tomodachi, both can be translated as a friend. One thing that distinguish the usage of nakama and tomodachi are the situation the word is used. The problem in this research is to know the differences in the use of nakama and tomodachi, as well as to know the reason why nakama is chosen in Fairy Tail manga tointerpret the word friend. This research is using the library research methods and sample from manga with title Fairy Tail. The result obtained describe nakama is prioritized in Fairy Tail because nakama have meaning friend associated with occupation.
