 Abstract
The English common law has an incredibly rich Christian heritage. England's most celebrates jurists- including the likes of Blackstone, Coke and Fortescue - often drew heavily from their Christioan faith when expounding and developing whst are now well established principles and doctrines of the common law. Accordingly, the common law system has been historically developed with a particular reference to the Cristian tradition of the natural law. This article demonstrates how the English common law was largely inspired and developed by these Christioan principles of natural law theory, ang how these principles still remain valid to the interpretasion of the common law even to the present day.
