Abstract
Using the city of Port Harcourt as a case study, this paper analyzes some of the variables contributing to rural-urban migration. It also discusses some of the problems of migration and over-urbanisation. The paper finally suggested that a critical assessment should be mande to retard migration and over-urbanisation based upon one of the migration policies in Nigeria.
