ABSTRAK Telekomunikasi mobile saat ini sudah tertanam dalam keseharian manusia, baik itu melalui telepon, akses web, maupun aplikasi (mobile app). Tidak hanya media sosial atau portal berita, banyak universitas di dunia sudah mengembangkan atau bahkan meluncurkan mobile app resmi universitas untuk dapat membantu aktivitas mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu, Universitas Indonesia sebagai salah satu universitas negeri terbaik di Indonesia yang terus berusaha menjadi sebuah world class university turut mulai mengembangkan mobile app resminya. Akan tetapi, mobile app resmi yang dikembangkan oleh universitas indonesia saat ini hanya berisikan informasi umum mengenai UI dan belum berisikan konten yang secara spesifik dapat membantu aktivitas mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan penelitian untuk dapat mengembangkan sebuah mobile app dengan fungsi tertentu yang secara khusus didesain sesuai dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa Universitas Indonesia. Penelitian ini dimulai dari penyeleksian fungsi portal web UI hingga perancangan desain mobile app user interface. Pada proses seleksi fungsi mobile app, digunakan metode Pareto Analysis. Pada proses pembentukan Information Architecture dan Application Flow Diagram, digunakan metode TOPSIS dengan kriteria UX untuk menentukan urutan halaman fungsi mobile app berdasarkan prioritas penggunaan mobile app. Pada proses perancangan desain mobile app digunakan metode gabungan antara perbandingan dengan beberapa mobile app universitas yang sudah ada dengan metode Conjoint Analysis untuk mencari desain halaman utama mobile app yang paling sesuai dengan preferensi pengguna. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah mobile app beta prototype berdasarkan proses penelitian yang telah dilakukan. ABSTRACT Nowadays, mobile communication has become embedded in users’ daily communicative practices through telephony, web access, and applications (apps). Not only social media or news portal, many of university worldwide has develop or even launch their official mobile app for helping student’s activities. Therefore Universitas Indonesia as one of best state university in Indonesia that keep progressing to become one of the world class university also began to develop it’s official mobile app. However, official mobile app that already developed by Universitas Indonesia just contain general information about the university and still hasn’t consisted of contents those specifically help student’s daily activities. Therefore a research conducted to develop a mobile app with certain function that are specifically designed to suit the needs of Universitas Indonesia student. This research starts from the selection of Universitas Indonesia web portal functionality to the mobile app user interface design. Pareto Analysis method is used in the selection process of mobile app functionality. TOPSIS method with UX criteria is used in the formation process of Information Architecture and Application Flow Diagram to determine the order of mobile app pages based on mobile app usage priority. Combined method between university mobile app comparison and conjoint analysis method to find the mobile app main page design that suits the user preference is used in the process of designing the mobile app. This study produced a mobile app beta prototype based on the process of research that has been done. |
