ABSTRAK Skripsi ini membahas inflection sebagai metode produksi ruang potensial dariproses modulasi fabrikasi digital. Walau berpotensi, ruang negatif sebagai hasildari inflection saat ini hanya dianggap sebagai residu dari hasil pemotongan.Untuk itu, studi terhadap penggunaan ruang negatif sebagai inflection daripembentukan ruang positifnya saya lakukan. Saya menemukan bahwaketerhubungan antara permukaan ruang positif dan negatif dari proses modulasifabrikasi digital dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memproduksi ruang baik sebagai satusistem ataupun dua objek yang berbeda. Walau saat ini efisiensi lebihdiprioritaskan dalam proses modulasi fabrikasi digital, bukan tidak mungkininflection dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai metode merancang yang tidakmenghasilkan residu sama sekali. Inflection memberikan sebuah perspektif baruterhadap penggunaan material lembaran. ABSTRACT This paper presents inflection as a potential method for space production fromdigital fabrication modulation process. Despite this potential, negative space as aresult of inflection is still merely considered as cutting leftovers. A study aboutapplications of negative space as the inflection of positive space creation istherefore conducted. As a conclusion, I found that the relationship betweenpositive and negative space surface from digital fabrication modulation processcould be used to produce space either as a system or two different objects.Although the notion of efficiency still holds priority in digital fabricationmodulation process these days, it?s possible that inflection can be used as a designmethod that might not produce leftover at all. Inflection gives a new perspectiveto the possible use of sheet materials |
