ABSTRACT Physical fitness is a person's ability to perform daily work yet still be able to enjoyleisure time without experiencing significant fatigue. The purpose of this studywas to determine factors associated with the level of fitness of students in SDN 03Pondok Cina, Depok, 2015. The level of students’ fitness were measured usingthe Tes Kesegaran Jasmani Indonesia (TKJI), nutritional status were measuredusing anthropometric measurements, nutrient intakes were measured using3x24hours food recall, while physical activity and breakfast consumption weremeasured using self-administered questionnaire. This study used cross-sectionaldesign which was conducted on 83 students of 4th and 5th grader. The resultsshowed that the TKJI average score was 9.98 ± 2.35. Based on the bivariateanalysis, there are significant differences between the TKJI average scores basedon sex (p value = 0,046), nutritional status (p value = 0,021), energy intake (pvalue = 0,018), protein intake (p value = 0,047), iron intake (p value = 0,016), andbreakfast consumption (p value = 0.008). Further research is needed to examinecausality on these factors. The author suggests that students should control theirweight at least once in a month to maintain good nutritional status, keep the intakeof nutrients by eating foods according to balanced nutrition guidelines, andexercise at least three times a week. |
