Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran hubungan antara dukungan sosial (orang tua, guru, teman sekelas dan teman dekat) dan keterlibatan siswa di sekolah. Pengukuran dukungan sosial dilakukan menggunakan alat ukur Child and Adolescent Social Support Scale (CASSS) (Malcki & Demaray, 2002) dan pengukuran variabel keterlibatan siswa di sekolah menggunakan Student Engagement in School (Lam, Wong, Shin, Negovan, Nelson, Liu, Duck dkk., 2014). Partisipan penelitian ini berjumlah 127 siswa SMA (66 siswa kelas X dan 61 siswa kelas XI).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan ditemukan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dan positif antara dukungan sosial dengan keterllibatan siswa di sekolah (R = 0,564). Hubungan yang signifikan antara dukungan sosial dengan keterlibatan siswa di sekolah, hanya ditemukan pada dukungan sosial orang tua (r = 0,263) dan guru (r = 0,359) dengan keterlibatan siswa di sekolah.Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi dukungan sosial orang tua dan guru yang diterima siswa, maka kecenderungan keterlibatan siswa di sekolah akan semakin meningkat. Untuk dukungan sosial teman kelas dan teman dekat, tidak ditemukan memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan keterlibatan siswa di sekolah. This study was conducted to find the correlation between social support (parents, teachers, classmates, and close friends) and student engagement. Social support was measured with Child and Adolesent Social Support Scale (CASSS) (Malecki & Demaray, 2002). Student Engagement is measured with Student Engagement in School instrument (Lam dkk., 2014). Total of 127 high school student was selected to participate in this study.The result of this study show that significant correlation with student engagement only found in parents social support ( r = 0,263) and teacher social support ( r = 0,369).Based on these result, it can be concluded that the more parents and teachers social support that perceived by student, the more engage they are. The correlation found highest in teachers social support, and followed by social support from parents. Furthermore, these study also found that there is no significant correlation between social support from classmates and close friend on student engagement. |
