Abstract
ABSTRAK
Kecerdasan emosional merupakan kemampuan memahami perasaan, berempati serta mengatur emosi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kecerdasan emosional remaja berdasarkan status kerja ibu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jumlah responden 143 remaja. Data diperoleh dari kuesioner Inventori Kecerdasan Emosional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan remaja yang berasal dari keluarga dengan ibu bekerja dan tidak bekerja memiliki skor rata-rata empati yang berbeda (p value 0.000). Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya pengajaran empati dari orang tua dan lingkungan remaja, serta pentingnya optimalisasi peran perawat komunitas di sekolah dan keluarga.
ABSTRACT
Emotional intelligence is a skill to understand our own feeling, empathy, and emotional control. This study investigated the differences of emotional intelligence between adolescents whose mothers were working and not working. This study is a quantitative research with a sample of 143 adolescents. The data were obtained using Inventori Kecerdasan Emosional Questionnaire. The result showed that the adolescents whose mothers were working and not working got different mean score on empathy (p value 0.000). This study recommends the importance of the implementation of teaching empathy skill from parents and its environment, as well as optimizing the role of community health nurse, especially school and family nurse.
