ABSTRACT Stress were one of the factors that affected the food preference. This researchaimed to identify the relationship between stress and food preference. Thisresearch used analytical study with cross-sectional method in 148 students in FIKUI year 2013 and 2014 by stratified random sampling. This research usedPerceived Stress Scale questionnaire to measure stress level with α croncbach=0,831 and Food Preference 3 days questionnaire created by the researcher. Theaverage of stress score in student was (29,82 ± 4,130). Most students not oftenconsumed fibers (50,7%), animal proteins (60,1%), and snacks and fastfoods(53,4%). The result of this research showed that there was no significantcorrelation between stress level with food preference, on consumption ofvegetables and fruits (p=0,417), animal protein (p=0,232), and snack andfastfoods (p=0,221). Yet, there was difference that the more stress level he/shehad, the more frequent food preference he/she ate. Students were necessary tocontrol his/her stress in order not to consume the imbalance and plentiful food, especially snack and fastfood. |
