Abstract
Kelompok LGBT sebagai kelompok minoritas seksual cenderung mengalami misrepresentasi di media arus utama sehingga menimbulkan persepsi buruk di masyarakat tentang kelompok LGBT. Keberadaan media komunitas dimanfaatkan oleh komunitas Suara Kita untuk mewadahi tulisan-tulisan pro-LGBT yang selama ini tidak terakomodir oleh media arus utama melalui situs suarakita.org. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif untuk mengetahui pembentukan pesan yang terjadi dalam ruang redaksi Suarakita.org. Penelitian menemukan bahwa pembentukan pesan berlangsung secara bertahap dan bertujuan agar pesan yang disampaikan kepada khalayak melalui Suarakita.org sesuai dengan perspektif komunitas.
LGBT group as a sexual minority group tend to be misrepresented in mainstream media which make bad perception in society about LGBT people. The existence of community media is used by Suara Kita to accommodate the pro-LGBT writings that never be accommodated by mainstream media. The research was conducted under qualitative approach and aimed to understand about message establishment that occurred in editorial room of Suarakita.org. The research findings shows that message establishment consisted in several stages in order to make the purpose of the messages are in conformity with the group?s perspective.
