[ABSTRAK Dengan diterapkannya kebijakan notifikasi kosmetika di negara ASEAN, makaprodusen bertanggung jawab penuh terhadap mutu dan keamanan produknya. Selainitu, kosmetika semakin mudah beredar dan konsumen memiliki beragam pilihankosmetika. Tanpa pengetahuan yang memadai, konsumen terutama kaum perempuanmasih banyak menggunakan kosmetika yang mengandung bahan berbahaya.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebijakan notifikasi kosmetika dalammemberikan perlindungan bagi kaum perempuan dari produk kosmetika yang tidakaman. Penelitian dilakukan dengan survei rumah tangga di 5 wilayah di DKI Jakartadengan responden 200 orang kaum perempuan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah kebijakannotifikasi kosmetika belum sepenuhnya efektif dalam memberikan perlindungan bagikaum perempuan dari produk kosmetika yang tidak aman. Masih banyaknyakosmetika yang tidak memiliki izin edar atau nomor notifikasi, palsu, danmengandung bahan yang dilarang menandakan bahwa produsen atau importirkosmetika belum sepenuhnya bertanggung jawab terhadap mutu dan keamananandari kosmetika yang diedarkan. In addition to this, cosmetics are easier to bedistributed and consumers have a various option of cosmetics.
