Abstract
This research aims to study the effect of demographic, social, and economic factors, and the living arrangement on household poverty using the Susenas 2013 data. Based on the regression results of 263.813 households, it is found that the number of household members, asset ownership, and household living arrangement with the young and the elderly members have the strongest influence on the likelihood of poverty. It implies that living arrangement should be considered in formulating social protection policies. The area of residence and the gender of household head have no significant effect on tendency to be poor.
