ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini membahas tentang representasi profesi pustakawan dalam novel The Case of The Missing Books. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran tentang tanggung jawab dan dedikasi seorang pustakawan terhadap profesinya di sebuah kota di Irlandia Utara. Metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan gambaran profesi pustakawan yang diwujudkan dalam dedikasi dan tanggung jawab terhadap profesi dengan menganalisis unsur naratif berupa unit konteks, sebagai unit analisis penelitian, kemudian diidentifikasi berdasarkan teori. Hasil temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dedikasi dan tanggung jawab terhadap profesi memberikan pengakuan dan kepercayaan dari masyarakat sebagai profesi yang luhur.
ABSTRACT This undergraduate thesis explains about the representation of librarian profession in The Case of The Missing Books novel. Purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the responsibility and dedication to profession as a librarian in a city in Northern Ireland. Qualitative based research with content analysis is used in this study to get an overview of librarian profession, which is manifested in the dedication and responsibility to the profession by analyzing the narrative elements in context unit form. The result of this study shows that the dedication and responsibility to the profession providing recognition and trust from the society as a noble profession.
