Abstract
Skripsi ini membahas fungsi kultural gaya busana Lolita pada komunitas Elegant Gothic Lolita di dunia maya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis apa saja fungsi kultural yang terdapat dalam gaya busana Lolita di komunitas tersebut. Pembahasan dalam skripsi ini menggunakan konsep gaya busana oleh Barnard Malcolm dalam bukunya yang berjudul Fashion as Communication (1996). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang difokuskan pada komunitas Elegant Gothic Lolita di situs Livejournal dengan melakukan observasi partisipan serta wawancara tidak langsung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gaya busana Lolita memiliki fungsi-fungsi kultural yang ditunjukkan oleh penggunanya.
The focus of this study is cultural function of Lolita fashion in an online community called Elegant Gothic Lolita. The purpose of this study is to analyze the cultural functions in Lolita fashion which is shown by the member of the community. This study uses Barnard Malcolm`s concept of fashion as described in his book titled Fashion as Communication (1996). This research is qualitative research, focused on Elegant Gothic Lolita community in Livejournal website by performing participant observation and indirect interview. The result of this study shows that Lolita fashion has cultural functions shown by the wearer.
