Jurnal ini mengkaji film berjudul ?The Young Victoria? dengan menggunakan metode semiotika naratif oleh Greimas. Didukung dengan psikoanalisis oleh Freud untuk mengidentifikasi latar belakang atas mengapa film ini dilihat menggunakan sudut pandang dan perspektif tertentu. Mengidentifikasi film yang menjelaskan perjalanan Victoria dari masa kecilnya hingga ia dikoronasi sebagai Ratu Inggris. Film ini mencoba memberikan sudut pandang dari bagaimana seorang Victoria bercerita mengenai hidupnya. Dengan semiotika naratif, peneliti mencoba mencaritahu relasi dari karakter-karakter dalam film yang mendukung Victoria sebagai sosok Ratu Inggris dan karakter-karakter yang menghambatnya menjadi Ratu Inggris. Hal ini diyakini bahwa segala sifat karakter dipengaruhi atas masa lalu tiap karakter yang terdapat dalam film. This research is about media studies in the field of film which called ?The Young Victoria? using narrative semiotics by Greimas as its methods. Supported by psychoanalysis by Freud in order to identify the background of why the film was made with those angles and perspectives. Victoria itself as the Queen of England has a journey from her childhood until she was being coronated. This film is trying to captured Victoria?s journey, that is why Jean-Marc Vallée directed this film. The film itself was shooted as Victoria telling a story about her life. With narrative semiotics, researcher trying to find out the correlation in each characters of the film that made a unite concept of the life story Queen Victoria. This research is using literature study to support the concreteness of data in order to enrich the research from its proof. Which the characters that support Victoria as Queen of England, and characters who trait Victoria of being Queen happen because the background of the characters itself. |
