ABSTRAK Penelitian ini membahas pemahaman remaja mengenai kaidah kebahasaan yang menyangkut struktur kalimat untuk mengetahui bagaimana remaja menggunakan jenis jenis kalimat dalam pokok pembicaraan tertentu pada status faecbook miliknya Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan bahasa remaja di media sosial facebook sebagai wujud gambaran ekspresi diri remaja Metode penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif Data berupa status status facebook remaja Teori yang digunakan adalah teori sintaksis teori perkembangan remaja dan teori variasi bahasa Penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa remaja cenderung lebih banyak menggunakan kalimat lengkap dengan pola struktur sederhana dalam status facebook mereka Isi dari status facebook mereka tampak didominasi oleh pokok pembicaraan
