Akan tetapi, potensi konflik tersebut dapat berubah menjadi jalinanantarbudaya jika masing-masing pihak dapat membuka diri dan berkeinginan untuk menjalaniproses adaptasi dengan mengesampingkan berbagai prasangka. Permasalahan seperti ini kerapdiangkat dalam Kesusastraan Kanada. Gabrielle Roy, seorang penulis berdarah Quebec,mewujudkan hal tersebut dalam salah satu cerita pendek autobiografinya yang berjudulL?Italienne. Artikel ini membahas tentang interaksi yang terjadi dalam masyarakat yangberbeda budaya dengan menggunakan konsep interaksi sosial, identitas sosial, identitasbudaya dan stereotip yang berlandaskan teori struktur naratif dari Roland Barthes dan sekuendari Schmitt dan Viala.
