Community based-tourism discourse in these days is still identifying as rural tourism. It is very rarely to find community based-tourism context. This article tries to analyze theoretically aspects about community based-tourism context. The practice of urban community based tourism which will be discussed in this article is night urban tourism in Jalan Jaksa, Central Jakarta. Jalan Jaksa is an urban tourism attraction especially for international tourists from backpackers or low middle tourist segment. This tourist attraction has been managed by Jalan Jaksa Community, not by local government. The authors identify that urban community based-tourism which has been practiced by Jalan Jaksa community is beneficial for local community. |
