ABSTRAK Skripsi ini berlatar belakang kesadaran saya dalam melihat keterhubungan antara arsitektur dan film sebagai seni spasial, khususnya melihat kedua aspek tersebut dari pandangan Rem Koolhaas. Rem Koolhaas merupakan salah satu arsitek yang memiliki latar belakang sebagai penulis skenario film. Menurut Koolhaas, dalam menulis skenario film dan mengorganisasikan ruang arsitektural memiliki kemiripan karena keduanya membuat hubungan antar adegan/event dalam ruang. Skripsi ini mengangkat isu tentang bagaimana hubungan representasi arsitektur dan film. Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk melihat representasi arsitektur dalam film dan representasi film dalam arsitektur yang Koolhaas aplikasikan dalam prinsip keruangannya. Dalam mengkaji kedua isu tersebut saya menggunakan teori arsitektural, film, dan montase. Studi kasus film yang dikaji adalah Body and Soul (1966) dan Ali: Fear Eats the Soul (1974), sedangkan studi kasus arsitektural yang dikaji adalah Maison à Bordeaux (1994-1998). ABSTRAK This thesis is based on my awareness in looking at architecture and film and finding there is a connection between them as a spatial art, especially looking at both aspects from Rem Koolhaas? point of view. Rem Koolhaas is an architect with a background as a scriptwriter. According to Koolhaas, scriptwriting and organizing architectural space both have similarities with each other, because they tend to make a connection between scenes/events in spaces. The main issue of this thesis is to see the connection between representation of architecture and film. This thesis aims to analyze the representation of architecture in film and the representation of film in architecture that Koolhaas uses as his principle of architectural space. To analyze both objectives, i used architecture, film, and montage theories. The movies that i used as case studies are Body and Soul (1966) and Ali: Fear Eats the Soul (1974) to see the theories from film perspective, and then Maison à Bordeaux (1994-1998) became my case study to analyze the theories from architectural perspective. |
