Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh dari kinerja lingkungan terhadap biaya utang dan biaya ekuitas perusahaan. Kinerja lingkungan diukur menggunakan hasil dari PROPER yang dikeluarkan oleh Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 50 perusahaan yang merupakan anggota PROPER dan terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia untuk periode 2011-2015. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa kinerja lingkungan berpengaruh signifikan positif terhadap biaya utang. Hasil penelitian ini berlawanan dengan hipotesis yang diajukan sebelumnya dikarenakan adanya perbedaan konteks antara negara Indonesia dengan negara maju lainnya yang sebelumnya telah melakukan penelitian terkait topik ini. Perbedaan konteks tersebut antara lain adalah law enforcement dan incentive dalam melakukan kinerja lingkungan.
This study aims to examine the effect of environmental performance on cost of equity and cost of debt. Environmental performance, used in this research, is based on PROPER by Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup. Samples used are 52 firms that are PROPER member and listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2011 to 2015. The result of this study shows that environmental performance have a significant positive impact on cost of debt. The result of this study is opposed to hypothesis developed earlier because of some differents between Indonesia and other developed countries that have done related research. The differences are law enforcement and incentive for environmental performance.
