ABSTRAK Studi ini meneliti determinan dari kualitas pendidikan dalam SMA Negeri dan Swasta di Jakarta. Menggunakan dataset individu sekolah dan teknik regressi panel fixed effect, studi ini menggambarkan analisis terhadap karakteristik sekolah (rasio siswa guru, tingkat pendidikan guru, pengalaman guru, penerimaan sekolah, dan kondisi sekolah). Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa rasio siswa guru memiliki peran penting dalam pencapaian siswa. Namun, tingkat pendidikan guru, pengalaman guru, penerimaan sekolah, dan kondisi sekolah (lingkungan, akreditasi, dan kondisi bangunan) tidak menjelaskan kualitas pendidikan pada suatu sekolah. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menyajikan analisis deskriptif yang menunjukkan ketimpangan dari nilai ujian dan rasio kelulusan ? ketidaklulusan berbasiskan koefisien Gini di tingkat provinsi. ABSTRACT This study investigates the determinants of school quality within public and private senior high school in Jakarta. Using individual school dataset and fixed effect panel regression technique, this paper provides an analysis of school characteristics (student-teacher ratio, teacher education level, teacher experience, school?s income, and school?s condition). This research concludes that student-teacher ratio plays an important role in student achievement. However, teacher education level, teacher experience, income of the school, and condition of the school (environment, accreditation, and building condition) do not describe the quality of education on a school. In addition, this research also provides a descriptive analysis showing inequality of exam score and graduated ? not graduated ratio based on Gini coefficient in province level. |
