ABSTRACT Malnutrition is still a main problem in Indonesia. One of such problem isCalorie and Energy Deficiency (CED) which characterized by the upper armdiameter (UAD) less than 23.5 cm. It is found that the number of CED cases at thePuskesmas of Gunung Sugih is higher than the national standard. CED cases onpregnant women will lead to emerging health problems towards their nextgeneration, and increasing the maternal and neonatal deaths. The purpose of the study is to analyze the correlation of women’s level ofeducation and occupation, husbands’ level of education and occupation, BodyMass Index and weight before pregnant, contraception use, and ante natal care. The study uses the Case-control design, with 252 samples that consist of 84pregnant women with CED risk and 168 pregnant women without risk of CED.First cathegory samples are taken from house to house of pregnant women fromthe list of the cohort register record of women visited at Puskesmas, while thesecond cathegory are taken from pregnant women who visited Puskesmas fromJune 2010 to May 2011. Statistical used is Chi-square.The result of the study showed that there is a significant relationshipbetween Body Mass Index (OR= 4.148) and weight (OR= 6.640) before pregnant, and the use of contraception before pregnant (OR=4.335) with the CED case.It is expected that there will be a policy for monitoring the nutritionalstatus on adolescent girls, and started to work out on the program on adolescenthealth friendly service (PKPR). |
