Perbandingan marital burnout antara pasangan dual-earner dan single-earner = Comparison of marital burnout between dual-earner and single-earner couples

Peningkatan partisipasi perempuan dalam angkatan kerja telah berimplikasi pada peningkatan dual-earner couple di Indonesia. Beberapa penelitian yang dilakukan di negara lain, seperti Australia dan Amerika, menemukan bahwa dual-earner couple berisiko mengalami berbagai tekanan yang dapat membuat mereka mengalami marital burnout lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan single-earner couple. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan marital burnout antara dual-earner couple dengan single-earner couple, dan perbandingan suami atau istri dari dual-earner couple dengan suami atau istri dari single-earner couple, serta perbandingan marital burnout antara suami dan istri dari dual-earner couple. Terdapat 382 responden yang terdiri atas 191 suami, dan 191 istri yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dual-earner couple memiliki marital burnout yang tidak lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan single-earner couple, suami dari dual-earner couple memiliki marital burnout yang tidak lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan suami dari single-earner couple; dan istri dari dual-earner couple memiliki marital burnout yang tidak lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan istri dari single-earner couple. Hal ini dapat disebabkan oleh karakteristik dari responden dan faktor lain yang dapat mempengaruhi hasil penelitian. Increase in women rsquo s labor force participation has been implicated in the increase in dual earner couple in Indonesia. Several studies conducted in other countries, such as Australia and America, found that dual earner couple at risk of developing a variety of pressures that can make them experience higher marital burnout than single earner couple. This research is aimed to compare the marital burnout among dual earner couple with a single earner couple, and a comparison of the husband or wife of a dual earner couple with the husband or wife of a single earner couple, as well as marital burnout comparison between a husband and wife from dual earner couple. There were 382 respondents consisted of 191 husbands and 191 wives who participated in this study. The results of this study indicate that marital burnout in dual earner couple was not higher than single earner couple, marital burnout in husband in dual earner couple is not higher than husband in single earner couple and marital burnout in wife in dual earner couple was not higher than wife in single earner couple. This could be due to the characteristics of participants and other factors that may affect the results of this study. |
