ABSTRAK Skripsi ini membahas tentang peran negara dalam mengembangkan industrisemikonduktor di China pada tahun 1995-2004 beserta penyebab, perkembangandan dampaknya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan datasekunder sebagai data utamanya. Dengan mengunakan teori state capitalism, exportoriented industrialization, dan geopolitical imagination, penelitian ini menemukanbeberapa temuan.Temuan pertama penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa kebutuhanChina untuk memenuhi pasar domestik dan berkembangnya Taiwan di sektorsemikonduktor telah mendorong China ingin membangun industrisemikonduktornya. Kedua, pemerintah China membangun industrisemikonduktornya melalui berbagai bantuan kepada perusahaan, seperti pendanaandan keringanan pajak. Ketiga, bantuan dan strategi pemerintah ini membawa hasilpositif bagi kemajuan industri semikonduktor di China. Hasilnya adalah dapatdilihat bahwa peran negara berhasil membuat perkembangan di dalam industrisemikonduktor China.Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah peran negaramerupakan faktor penting didalam keberhasilan perkembangan industrisemikonduktor di China. ABSTRACT This undergraduate thesis discusses the role of the state in developing thesemiconductor industry in China in 1995 2004 focuses on the emerging factors, themethod of development and the results of the development of this industry. Thisstudy used a qualitative method using secondary data as the main source of data.By applying the two theories of state capitalism supplemented with export orientedindustrialization, and geopolitical imagination, this thesis demonstrate threefindings. First, this research shows that there were two factors behind thedevelopment of the semiconductor industry China rsquo s need to fulfill the needs of itsdomestic market as well as the development of Taiwan rsquo s semiconductor industry.Second, the Chinese government built the semiconductor industry through a varietyof assistance to government and private companies, such as additional funding andtax breaks. Third, these forms of government assistance brought positive results forthe development of the semiconductor industry in China. The conclusion of thisresearch is that the role of the state is an important factor in the successfuldevelopment of the semiconductor industry in China. |
