Abstrak
Sikap Ambivalen Tokoh Linda dalam Proses Pencapaian Subjektivitas Perempuannya pada Novel Adultery 2014 Karya Paulo Coelho Adultery 2014 merupakan novel karya Paulo Coelho, seorang novelis terkenal asal Portugis yang karyanya tersebar di berbagai belahan dunia.Tesis ini berusaha mengungkapkan sikap ambivalen tokoh utama dalam novel ini, yaitu Linda dalam proses pencapaian subjektivitas perempuannya. Landasan teori yang digunakan adalah pendekatan feminisme eksistensialis Simone de Beauvoir dan fokalisasi. Analisis fokalisasi dengan memasang konsep feminisme eksistensialis Beauvoir menunjukkan kecenderungan tokoh yang merepresentasikan nilai-nilai dari konsep tersebut. Analisis fokalisasi pada beberapa tokoh pada tataran narasi yang berbeda menunjukkan adanya sikap ambivalen Linda. Kesimpulan dari keseluruhan analisis memperlihatkan sikap ambivalen Linda dalam usaha mencapai subjektivitas dirinya yang pada akhirnya berhasil ia raih.

The Ambivalent Attitude of Linda in Attaining Her Female Subjectivity in Adultery 2014 by Paulo CoelhoAdultery 2014 is a novel by Paulo Coelho, a famous novelist from Portugal whose works are spread through parts of the world. This thesis tries to reveal the ambivalent attitude of the main character in this novel, Linda, in achieving her subjectivity. The theoretical frameworks used are feminist existentialism by Simone de Beauvoir and focalization technique. Focalization analysis by applying feminist existentialism concept by Beauvoir showed a trend figures that represent the values of the concept. Focalization analysis on some of the figures at different level of narration shows the ambivalent attitude of Linda. The conclusion of the overall analysis show the ambivalent attitude of Linda in achieving her subjectivity which in the end she managed to achieve.
