Abstrak
Makalah ini menjelaskan kaitan antara Revolusi Perancis dengan kedatangan Daendels ke Jawa. Daendels menerapkan sistem sentralisasi pemerintahan di Jawa. Beberapa kebijakan Daendels yang diterapkan adalah pengubahan hubungan horizontal menjadi hubungan vertikal, antara raja penguasa dengan pemerintahan Belanda khususnya dengan Daendels; pemindahan ibukota; pembagian daerah di Jawa serta pembangunan De Grote Postweg. Kebijakan Sentralisasi pemerintahan ini memberikan dampak positif maupun negatif.
This paper explains the link between the French Revolution with Daendels 39 arrival to Java. Daendels implemented centralized system of govermment in Java. Some policies implemented by Daendels were changing the horizontal relationship into a vertical relationship between teh king and the Dutch goverment, especially with Daendels the displacement of capital city the division of areas in Java as well the construction of De Grote Postweg. Centralized policy of this goverment give positive or negative impacts.
