ABSTRAK
Sejumlah penelitian mengungkapkan adanya kebutuhan organisasi untuk melakukan transformasi, demikian juga pada institusi perguruan tinggi. Transformasi muncul sebagai respon terhadap tantangan yang dihadapi di era informasi dengan berkembangnya lingkungan bisnis yang semakin kompetitif. Tantangan tersebut adalah kompetisi yang semakin ketat, kebutuhan untuk meningkatkan kualitas, serta tuntutan untuk mencari sumber pendanaan baru. Karakteristik organisasi yang dapat bertahan menghadapi tantangan di era informasi adalah lean kecil/ramping , agile lincah dan networked, serta fleksibel. Extended Enterprise EE adalah suatu konsep yang fokus pada kompetensi inti, memiliki karakteristik antara lain lincah, dinamis dan fleksibel dengan lingkungannya. Dengan demikian, karakteristik organisasi yang dapat bertahan di era informasi dapat dicapai salah satunya dengan menerapkan EE.Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus digunakan untuk melihat bagaimana EE diterapkan pada perguruan tinggi. Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan adalah analisis terhadap konsep EE yang diperoleh dari berbagai literatur, analisis terhadap perguruan tinggi secara umum dan analisis terhadap tempat studi kasus yaitu Perguruan Tinggi Swasta ABC. Pada penelitian ini, digunakan data sekunder yang berasal dari berbagai literatur yang membahas tentang EE dan penerapannya, perguruan tinggi, dan transformasi institusi perguruan tinggi. Data juga diperoleh dari tempat studi kasus berupa surat keputusan rektor, dokumen rencana transformasi, dokumen SOP Standard Operating Procedure , dan e-mail yang dikirim ke mailing list dosen Perguruan Tinggi Swasta ABC.Dari penelitian ini dihasilkan konsep penerapan EE pada Perguruan Tinggi Swasta ABC. Pada konsep tersebut, suatu institusi perguruan tinggi harus mempunyai keunggulan kompetitif sebagai modal untuk bertransformasi ke arah EE. Penerapan EE di institusi perguruan tinggi dilakukan pada tingkat strategis aliansi strategis dan customer partnership , manajerial kompetensi inti dan alihdaya , dan operasional virtual integration . Penelitian ini juga mengungkapkan bahwa ada beberapa hal yang harus dilakukan oleh Perguruan Tinggi Swasta ABC dalam menerapkan EE, dan terdapat sejumlah manfaat yang akan diperoleh oleh institusi tersebut dari penerapan EE.
ABSTRACT
A number of studies have revealed the need to transform the organization, as well as in higher education institutions. Transformation appears as a response to the challenges faced in the information age with the development of an increasingly competitive business environment. The challenge is the increasingly fierce competition, the need to improve the quality, as well as the demand to find new funding sources. Organizational characteristics that can withstand the challenges of the information age is lean, agile and networked, as well as flexible. Extended Enterprise EE is a concept that focuses on core competencies, has characteristics include agile, dynamic and flexible environment. Thus, the organizational characteristics that can survive in the information age can be achieved either by applying EE.A qualitative approach with case study method is used to see how EE applied to university. Stages of the research is the analysis of the concept of EE obtained from the literature, analysis of the college in general and the analysis of the Private University ABC. In this study, the use of secondary data derived from the literature that discusses EE and its application, college, and the transformation of higher education institutions. Data were also obtained from Private University ABC such a rector rsquo s decision letter, the document of transformation plan, document of SOP Standard Operating Procedure , and e mail sent to a mailing list of lecturers.This research produced the concept of application of EE at the Private University ABC. On the concept, a higher education institution must have a competitive advantage as the capital for the transformation towards EE. Application of EE in higher education institutions is done at the strategic level strategic alliances and customer partnerships , managerial core competencies and outsourcing , and operational virtual integration . The study also revealed that there are some things that must be done by the Private University ABC in implementing EE, and there are a number of benefits to be derived by the institutions from the implementation of EE. |
