Utilization of maternal health care services could save severe compli-cations and death among women during pregnancy, delivery, and after de-livery. Numerous factors such as social, perceived needs, and economicand physical accessibility are contributed directly with the use of maternalhealth care. The purpose of this study is to investigate the social, perceivedneeds, and economic and physical accecibility factors that affect women?suse of maternal health care in West Java. The data used come from the2010 Basic Health Research of ever married women 15 ? 59 years old. Thisstudy used two levels of analysis, bivariate and multivariate analysis. Bothanalyses confirmed that social, perceived needs, and economic and phy-sical accessibility factors had a significant relationship with the utilization ofantenatal and modern delivery care. The final model logistics regressionmultivariate analysis indicate that the residence?s place remain the most in-dependent variable affecting both of antenatal and delivery care usage.Other important determinants are complications history, family income, mother?s age, and education. In the multivariate analysis, the complicationshistory have a significant impact on the probability of women obtaining de-livery care although these variable not associated with the dependent varia-bles in the bivariate analysis. |
