| Merbau (Intsia bijuga) has high economic value as a source of timber, and its bark and leaves are used in traditional medicines. The survival of this species is threatened in its natural habitat. So, action has been undertaken to support its survival and to upgrade its conservation status by ex situ propagation of seedlings, and by re-planting seedlings in their natural habitat. Nevertheless, the conservation status of merbau is still threarened. |
