| Sirsak gunung ( Annona montana Macf.) is a tropical fruit tree in the family annonaceae. It is native to Central America, the Amazon region and islands in the Caribbean. A. montana is used for its edible fruit, in traditional medicines, in natural pesticide preparations, and as rootstock on wich to graft other useful species. Some extracts from sirsak gunung have been identified as having antitumor, immunosuppresaant, anti-parasitic and anti-microbial compounds, as well as pesticidal properties. The tree is commonly propagated by seed. |
