ABSTRACT The economic growth is a measure of the welfare of a country. The current economic growth currently uses the concept of a classical economic model in which the more output a country generates the higher the economic growth, but economic growth does not reflect the actual measure of wealth. Ibn Khaldun's model provides another solution in measuring the level of economic growth because the model includes economic and non economic variables. This study aims to analyze the relevant of classical economic variables and Ibn Khaldun's to economic growth. This study uses a panel data regression model using 4 countries ie Indonesia, Singapore, Turkey and the United States during the period of 2000 2015. The estimation results show that the classical economic model is still relevant in measuring the level of economic growth while in Ibnu Khaldun model only zakat potential variables alone affect economic growth. |
