Abstract
ABSTRAK
Mahasiswa adalah populasi yang rentan mengalami penggunaan internet bermasalah Odaci Kalka, 2010 . Selain itu, masa menjadi mahasiswa adalah masa yang penuh tekanan dan dapat menyebabkan timbulnya depresi. Dalam kondisi depresi, mahasiswa berada dalam kondisi mood yang negatif di bawah batas normal. Untuk menurunkan mood negatif dan menaikkan mood positif yang dirasakan, mahasiswa menggunakan internet Bryant Zillman, 1991 dalam Liang 2016 . Namun, dalam kondisi depresi mahasiswa cenderung mengalami cognitive maladaption yang diasumsikan dapat menyebabkan penggunaan internet bermasalah. Penelitian ini ingin mengetahui pengaruh depresi terhadap penggunaan internet bermasalah pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 677 mahasiswa di Indonesia. Melalui teknik uji statistik regresi linear ditemukan bahwa kecenderungan depresi berpengaruh secara positif terhadap penggunaan internet bermasalah F 1, 676 = 49.958.

College student are the most vulnerable populations that can experience problematic internet use Odaci Kalka, 2010 . And also being college student is the time when students can get a lot of pressure which can lead to depression. Under conditions of depression, students are having a negative mood condition below normal limits. To decrease the negative mood and increase the positive mood, students use the internet Bryant Zillman, 1991 in Liang 2016 . However, in conditions of depression students tend to experience cognitive maladaption that is assumed can cause problematic internet use. This study wanted to know the effect of depression on problematic internet use in college students. In this study 677 college students in Indonesia being participant. Through linear regression test technique, it was found that the tendency of depression had a positive effect on problematic internet use F 1, 676 49.958.
