ABSTRAK Pelanggaran terhadap prinsip kerja sama Grice 1975 dianggap menjadi penunjang kelucuan dalam wacana humor. Penelitian-penelitian terkait hal itu telah dilakukan, tetapi hanya didasari pada pandangan peneliti. Padahal, hal yang dianggap lucu oleh peneliti belum tentu dianggap lucu oleh pembaca. Skripsi ini membahas kelucuan menurut pembaca dalam kartun komik Tahilalats serta mengaitkannya dengan pelanggaran prinsip kerja sama dan konteks. Karena itu, sumber data yang digunakan adalah episode kartun yang memuat pelanggaran prinsip kerja sama. Penelitian ini menggabungkan antara pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data diperoleh dari kuesioner daring dan wawancara. Dari penelitian ini, didapatkan hasil bahwa Tahilalats dianggap tidak terlalu lucu oleh pembaca. Walaupun terdapat pelanggaran maksim kualitas dan kuantitas, menurut pembaca, dibutuhkan beberapa pembentuk kelucuan dan konteks yang sesuai. Pelanggaran maksim kuantitas dengan mengurangi kontribusi dinilai berpotensi untuk menghasilkan ketakterdugaan. ABSTRACT The violation of the cooperative principle Grice 1975 is considered to be a supporting element to create humor in discourse. Related studies is only based on the researchers rsquo point of views. In fact, things that are considered funny by researchers are not necessarily considered as funny by the readers. The present thesis discusses humor according to the readers in Tahilalats cartoon comic as well as links them with violations of cooperative principles and context. Therefore, the data source used is a cartoon episode that contains violations of the cooperative principle. This research combines quantitative and qualitative approach. The data are obtained from questionnaires and interviews. It is found that Tahilalats considered as ldquo not too funny rdquo by the readers. Although there are violations in principle of quality and quantity, some triggers and context are needed. The lack of information is considered potential to create unpredictability. |
