ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini memberi gambaran mengenai denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos yang hadir di dalam patung Hero, Leader, God karya Alexander Kosolapov. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-analisis dengan pendekatan teori semiotik milik Roland Barthes denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos . Penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan Lenin dengan mitosnya sebagai ikon komunisme, Mickey Mouse dengan mitosnya sebagai industri, dan Yesus dengan mitosnya Tuhan. Mitos-mitos tersebut kemudian disatukan dengan gestur bergandeng tangan yang memiliki makna rasa hormat dan pertemanan, juga dukungan, kewibawaan, dan membimbing. Selain itu dihadirkan juga ukuran/ketinggian patung yang memberi makna kedudukan dengan kedudukan Yesus paling tinggi disusul Lenin dan kemudian Mickey Mouse. Penempatan Mickey Mouse di tengah juga memberikan arti bahwa industri yang sangat mendominasi harus berjalan seiringan dengan Ketuhanan dan ideologi. Maka sesuai dengan judul karya Mickey Mouse sebagai Hero, Lenin sebagai Leader, dan Yesus sebagai God.
ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to describe the denotations, connotations, and myths that are present in the sculpture rdquo Hero, Leader, God rdquo by Alexander Kosolapov. This research is using descriptive analysis method with Roland Barthes rsquo s semiotics theory approach denotation, connotation, and myth . This research found that Lenin has myth as an icon of communism, Mickey Mouse rsquo s myth as an icon of industry, and Jesus, which is perceived to be a God. These myths and their representations are then united with a gesture of helding hands that have the meaning of not only respect and friendship, but also support, authority, and guidance. In addition, the height of each statue symbolises the order of importance, with the highest is Jesus followed by Lenin and then Mickey Mouse. The placement of Mickey Mouse in the middle has meaning that industry must work together with divinity and ideology. In this case Mickey Mouse representing hero, Lenin representing Leader, and Jesus representing God as the title of sculpture is Hero, Leader, God. |
