ABSTRAK Meskipun telah ada Undang-Undang CEDAW Convention of the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimnination Against Women ,wanita masih diidentifikasikan sebagai lsquo;pendamping rsquo; lelaki walau bagaimanapun kondisi atau situasi wanita tersebut. Tulisan ini memuat analisa hubungan antara tokoh utama anti superheroine Harley Quinn dengan para kolega lelaki nya di Suicide Squad the Movie: Extended Version 2016 . Menggunakan analisis berbasis tekstual dan film, penulis mengungkapakan penerapan teori wanita sebagai budak dan lelaki sebagai majikan Hegelians yang telah terkonstruksi oleh masyarakat patriarki dengan tidak hanya melihat dari hubungan antar gender, namun juga penganalisaan psikologi cinta, dan relasi kekuasaan antara superior dan inferior. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa dalam film Hollywood, terutama genre superhero, masih melanggengkan konstruksi gender. Meskipun ditampilkan sebagai tokoh yang kuat dan independen, tokoh perempuan masih inferior terhadap tokoh laki-laki, dan mereka dipaksa untuk menerima lsquo;takdir rsquo; yang mengikat hidup mereka sendiri dan telah ditetapkan oleh masyarakat. ABSTRACT Despite the fact that CEDAW Convention of the Elimination of All Forms of Discriminations Against Women law has been dealing with issues regarding women rsquo s right and equality, women nowadays are still identified as man rsquo s lsquo sidekick rsquo regardless any of her conditions. This paper examines the relationship of the major anti superheroine character Harley Quinn with her male colleagues in Suicide Squad the Movie Extended Version 2016 . Through textual film analysis, the writer unveils the constructed theory of the female slave and the male master made by patriarchal society by not only looking at the gender relation but also analyzing the psychological of love, and the power relation between superior and inferior as well. Research finding reveals that Hollywood film, specifically the superhero genre, maintains gender construction. Although portrayed as strong and independent characters, female characters are still inferior to male ones, and they have to accept their fate to be trapped in their own life established by the society. |
